Thanks for posting - I'd never seen Max Ernst 'in the flesh' although I thinkj there's something haunting in Max Ernst's Self Portrait - have a look! It's incredible how Germany produced so much great art at the start of the 2oth century. Max Ernst's surrealism pre-dates Dali and the Expressionists of the time - especially the German Expressionist Max Beckmann - are (for my money, at least) the most innovative artists of the 20th century. Look forward to seeing more!
